Are you ready to start helping hungry kids?

You can start raising funds as soon as your youth leader signs up your group for the Famine. Once they sign up, you can find your group and set up your fundraising page.

NOTE: Your youth leader must sign up your group before you can create your fundraising page.

What is the 30 Hour Famine?

It’s students around the world loving God and fighting hunger. Every year, thousands of students unite to do the Famine. You’ll learn about hunger, raise funds to help hungry kids, and experience hunger for yourself.

Why should I do the Famine?

Hunger kills another child every 10 seconds, but you can do something about it. The funds you raise by doing the Famine will help feed and care for hungry children around the world.

How much do I have to raise?

There’s no set amount, but keep this in mind: every $30 you raise can help feed and care for one child for a month. If you raise just $360, you can help one child for an entire year. Plus, you could earn some sweet rewards - and a chance to go on the trip of a lifetime.

How do I raise funds?

There are plenty of ways you can raise money: make phone calls, fundraise online, and so on. It doesn’t matter if you raise a little at a time - just keep at it! Don’t forget to share ideas with others in your group. And be sure to check out our fundraising tips - including a sample script you can try on for size.

Do I really have to go without food for 30 hours?

One reason many people do the Famine is to experience hunger for themselves. But if you’ve got any concerns about fasting or if there’s a medical reason you shouldn’t go without food for 30 hours, don’t worry. We offer a whole list of fasting alternatives.
