What is the 30 Hour Famine? It’s students around the world loving God and fighting hunger. Every year, thousands of students unite to do the Famine. They learn about hunger, raise funds to help hungry kids, and experience hunger for themselves.
How do I get started? Start by signing up online. We’ll provide everything you need, including a free Famine toolkit - a $50 value.
Why should I do the Famine? Hunger kills another child every 10 seconds, but your students can do something about it. The funds they raise by doing the Famine will help feed and care for hungry children around the world.
How do I get my group ready for the Famine? Hold a Famine kickoff meeting two months before your Famine Weekend. We’ve got loads of resources you can use - including a preview video, trivia game, and more.
How do we raise funds to fight hunger? It’s easier than you might think. First, have each student set an individual fundraising goal. You can also set a group goal - your students will step up. Then check out our fundraising tips and group activity ideas.
What am I going to do with my group for 30 hours? We’ve got plenty of activities to help you learn about hunger and have fun - including our interactive survival challenge, TRIBE. (You might even forget you’re hungry!)
What do I do after the Famine? Send the funds you raised to World Vision. The sooner you do, the sooner your group starts helping save lives. Then celebrate the difference you’ve made!
