How the Famine works

Every year, hundreds of thousands of students in the U.S. — and thousands more around the world — unite through World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine to feed hungry children and families.

Open your students’ eyes to the truth about global hunger and help them learn what God wants us all to do about it. Start with these videos and hunger facts.

raise funds to fight hunger

Just $30 can help feed and care for a child for an entire month! Set up your online fundraising page now and check out all these fundraising tools. “My favorite part of the Famine was fundraising. I felt like I was making a big difference in a child’s life,” shared Emma, one Famine participant.

do the event — go hungry for 30 hours

Your students will grow closer to God and each other as they fast for 30 hours! We’ve got tons of activities/games (including the ever-popular TRIBE), and community service ideas (plus schedules that pull them all together) to make your no-eat overnighter a breeze.

send funds — change children’s lives!

Collect the funds your students raised and send them to World Vision ASAP — it’s the only way your group’s hard work will help save lives. Your students will get the rewards they’ve earned, and if they’ve raised at least $360 they’ll qualify to apply for the Famine Study Tour — a once-in-a-lifetime chance to travel to meet real kids helped by World Vision.
