The Orphaned and Vulnerable Children Enablement Project will ensure that children have access to education, health care, nutrition, psychosocial support, household assistance, and mentoring programs. Vulnerable households will be provided with chickens, goats, or rabbits for breeding, and the offspring will be returned for placement in other households. Also, modified planting techniques will be used to provide an alternative to labor-intensive agriculture.

The Integrated Fish Farming Project in the eastern region of the country near Lake Malawi supplies local farmers with training and resources to raise fish in an effort to improve local diets. More than 1,000 families are being trained in pond construction and maintenance, disease prevention and treatment, and fish feeding and harvesting. Project leaders have transported farmers to the nearby town of Chingale to view a successful fish farming enterprise. Other agricultural training has been provided in fruit and vegetable production and in goat and sheep rearing. This venture is managed by a local farmers association, allowing for community ownership of the project.
