Famine Study Tour
the international trip of a lifetimewhat is the Study Tour?
Students (ages 14-20) who raise $360 or more qualify for the amazing chance to apply for the Study Tour team. Study Tour students visit a World Vision community overseas to see how hard-raised Famine funds are overcoming hunger and helping save real kids’ lives. *In an effort that make the Study Tour trip more accessible to students of all financial backgrounds, World Vision will contribute a dollar amount equal to what was personally raised for the 30 Hour Famine by the students selected. Please note that that the funds raised for the 30 Hour Famine will go towards food security projects around the world through World Vision hunger programs. Learn more about World Vision’s Financial Accountability here.
But don’t think of this as a mission trip. Think of it as an opportunity for students to learn firsthand from local community members and come away with a broader understanding of global hunger and poverty — equipping them to become even stronger ambassadors for the poor.
who can apply?
Any student between the ages of 14 – 20 years old (by May 8, 2013) that participated in the 30 Hour Famine between May 2012 and April 2013, and raised $360 or more. Check out the application for full details and requirements.

this trip changes you . . .
but don’t take our word for it

“Amongst all the pain we saw, there was also hope and light. Hope in the villages because the money we raised gave the people tools to build stables for their animals, seeds to grow their crops, and food to feed their families . . . Jesus Christ gave me this opportunity to look through those children’s eyes, those hardworking mothers and fathers, and see my purpose.”
—Lauren, Bolivia Study Tour student

“I’m shocked about how much of everything was funded by World Vision and 30 Hour Famine funds . . . It’s great to see the effort of youth groups around the nation and around the world have paid off so much.”
—Robert, Burundi Study Tour student

“From talking on Facebook I can already tell that Team Zambia is made up of some really amazing people. As my friends from Warwick and I say, they all seem to be ‘made of awesome.’”
—Gianna, Zambia Study Tour student

“Ten days, that’s all it took for my life to be completely transformed . . . in the most beautiful countryside, with the most welcoming people, seeing and doing the most unbelievable things.”
—Emma, Burundi Study Tour student
